On November 22, 2012 residents of El Rescate celebrated a day among family and friends as they gathered to remember Thanksgiving. Some residents arrived at 1PM to help in the process of cooking and preparation, at the home of El Rescate staff. Family members and residents joined in and at 4PM gave thanks that life had crossed their paths and they were gathered as a life chosen family to give thanks. The eating, life story sharing and football game watching extended until 9 PM when the last resident returned to El Rescate. Special thanks to Vida/SIDA Director Juan Calderon, and Zenaida Lopez for the turkeys, Ada Rivera, Casandra Figueroa and Amanda Figueroa for house and food preparation.
We are currently asking for contributions for this Christmas and Three Kings Day period. You may contact Ada Rivera at 773.278.6737 if you would like to contribute.
