On December 1, 2018, Judy Vázquez and Glenda Guzmán were presented the “Women Empowered for Civic Engagement Award (WECE). In an event with 200 people Judy and Glenda were awarded with 34 other women making a difference in their communities.
Both Glenda and Judy were awarded for their work on the Local School Councils and their involvement in the Puerto Rican Community. As part of WECE’s vision, the organization encourages all the recipients to recognize women in their community who are making a difference while building a movement to encourage women to take on greater leadership.
