I want to thank all of the employees who participated in Hopefest on July 26. This was a true partnership with New Life Covenant Church and a great team effort. As always it was immensely successful and was attended by many families and children not only from this community, but other parts of the city as well. The event was also attended by a number of elected officials, such as: Lisa Madigan; Paul Valles, representing the Governor; Alderman Burnett; Commissioner Edwin Reyes; and other influential community leaders.
We are also pleased to be partnering with two local high schools: Roberto Clemente Community Academy and Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos Puerto Rican High School. In this initiative, we are host to 20 youngsters who are doing summer work in various positions in the hospital. These young people have expressed an interest in the medical field and NAH offered them an opportunity to work with our staff, be exposed to the healthcare environment and get some valuable experience.I want to thank all of the employees who participated in Hopefest on July 26. I want to recognize the efforts of our Board Chair, Billy Ocasio, Marcey Sorensen from Clemente HS, and Matt Rodriguez from Albizu Campos HS for championing this event for our youth. This is a great cause designed to help create new leaders in healthcare. I would appreciate if you would extend your assistance and support them in their quest to find a career in this industry.
I also want to extend a special thank you to Dr. Campanini, who has always dreamed of accomplishing a program like this at Norwegian.
