Earlier this year my colleague Alejandro Molina, who designed Planting Flags, left the Windy City of Chicago to visit me in the Big Apple. He joined me alongside Juango and Los Pleneros de la 21 in a parranda at East Harlem’s La Casa Azul Bookstore. From that event blossomed the design and layout for this book and the activities bookletPlanting Flags EVERYWHERE.

Alejandro was only in town for for a brief stay but together, we were able to share the story behind Planting Flags on Division Street with people from all over the U.S.A. He flew back home with a copy of the book and a promise to share this story with the people of Humboldt Park, Chicago. Please take a look at the story behind our book.
