Our housing initiative attempts to tackle the historic issue of displacement experienced by colonized people. In our community, particularly, we work to provide affordable housing, identity affirming housing for houseless LGBTQ and/or HIV-positive youth, and we support people living with HIV in finding affordable housing. Through the Nancy Franco Maldonado Paseo Boricua Arts Buildings we are also addressing the housing challenges that many community artists face. Additionally we are envisioning housing efforts that will address the needs of teachers in our community, which will be informed by the Teacher’s Village.
