On behalf of the Puerto Rican Cultural Center and my family I want to express our deepest sense of condolences to the Molina family on the physical loss of their beloved mother, Bertha Alanis de Molina. We will greatly miss her presence, her eternal smile, her contagious grace, and most importantly her humanity. But we know she will be forever enshrined in our collective memory. She will also live on in the commitment, dedication, unswerving loyalty and empathy of her son Alejandro Luis Molina, and her grandson Matt McCanna-the 2 greatest gifts she bestowed upon the Puerto Rican Cultural Center.

Bertha was a pioneering educator in the realm of bilingual education but she was an activist in her own right. The most sublime attributes of her son and grandson are mirror images of the humbled practices and lessons she taught them through her lived examples.

Visitation will be at:

The Cremation Society of Illinois
6471 N. Northwest Highway
Chicago, IL 60631

on Friday, March 21, 3-8pm.

She has chosen to be cremated. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Les Turner ALS Foundation.
