Over the weekend, Dorian A. Ortega, LCPC, presented at the annual Dare to Dream Get Educated Conference held at College of DuPage. The Dare to Dream conference is a Latina focused conference for mothers and daughters of middle and high school to encourage graduation and college enrollment. Participants receive academic and community resources and engage in educational workshops. This year, over 500 participants attended the conference and were very receptive to the presentation about mental health. Dorian spoke about mental health, warning signs, cultural values and systematic barriers impacting well-being, self-care and ways to improve healthy communication. Dorian is one of the newest additions to the PRCC staff and has a longstanding relationship with the community.
