UrbanTheater Company (UTC) has been making professional theater accessible to the community of Humboldt Park for the last nine years, especially plays written by Puerto Rican playwrights. This Fall, to celebrate the centennial of Julia de Burgos, UTC kicks off their 9th season with the Midwest Premiere of Carmen Rivera’s Julia De Burgos: Child of Water, directed by Juan Castañeda (UTC ensemble member). Performances will be held at the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture located at the Humboldt Park Stables at 3015 W. Division St. The play runs from November 7 – December 14, 2014.
