Adrian Rodríguez

Adrian Rodríguez has been a proud member of the Humboldt Park community for over 30 years. His connection to the neighborhood began in childhood, when his mother was a student at Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos High School, and Adrian participated in the school’s childcare program in the late 1990s. As he grew older, Adrian became involved in Batey Urbano, a youth program serving at-risk young people by helping them express themselves through art, culture, and community engagement. Through this program, he was employed during the summer and was educated in Puerto Rican history and culture. This experience has shaped his identity and commitment to community work.

Today, Adrian Rodríguez serves as the Co-Director of the Violence Prevention & Intervention Initiative at the Puerto Rican Cultural Center. In this role, he helps lead efforts to reduce violence while supporting community members with their day-to-day needs. Adrian has worked with hundreds of participants, assisting them in meeting legal obligations, accessing critical resources, and rebuilding stability in their lives. His work is grounded in a deep commitment to harm reduction, community healing, and the belief that investing in people builds a better community for everyone. Through his efforts, he has developed and grown a boxing program that serves over 100 youth each year.
