The Youth Leadership Education Institute will support schools to engage students in leadership development opportunities, violence prevention, and anti-substance abuse campaigns. A restorative justice program will be utilized to build student voice and participation in problem solving to decrease suspensions and engage students in leadership activities at their respective schools. This will include peace circles, one-on-one counseling, peer mediation, student courts, etc. In addition, a college pipeline program will be created to support students to enroll and persist at post-secondary institutions. Peer mentors from respective universities and colleges will be utilized to anchor the program.
