Jessica Sierra, Director, VIDA/Sida

Jessica N. Sierra is the Director of VIDA/Sida and a public health leader with deep roots in the Humboldt Park area, where she was born and raised. Although her career began in healthcare, the COVID-19 pandemic inspired her transition into public health as a contact tracer. Through demonstrated leadership and commitment, she advanced into a supervisory role and now leads Vida/Sida’s programs and initiatives. Jessica’s work is driven by a strong commitment to health equity, community empowerment, and expanding access to essential public health services. Jessica leads the following Vida/Sida programs:

Asthma Home Visiting & Prevention Program, which provides in-home education, environmental assessments, and prevention strategies to help individuals and families better manage asthma and reduce triggers.

Health Insurance Marketplace Navigation assists community members with enrollment, renewal, and education related to health insurance coverage, ensuring access to affordable healthcare options.

Wellness West Program supports enrolled community members through follow-ups with Community Health Workers, offering resource coordination, wellness support, and assistance for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

HIV/STI Linkage to Care Program connects individuals to testing, treatment, and ongoing medical care while providing education and support to improve long-term health outcomes.

CEDA Utility Assistance Program provides assistance to low-income families in paying utility bills, helping households maintain essential services and financial stability
